As per the latest report, Nintendo Switch’s wireless retro SNES controller is now available for purchase, but only for exclusive group.
If you were waiting for the perfect classic controller to enjoy Nintendo Switch’s new collection of Super Nintendo Titles, then your wait has finally come to one end. Nintendo has begun to take order for the retro gamepad, the first orders ship out on September 18th, but you have to be a Switch online member to make this purchase. Just like last year’s wireless NES gamepad, Nintendo allows you to make this purchase only if you are a switch online members already paying the $20 per year / $4 per month subscription fee.
This won’t work with any other games except the Classic Nintendo titles
This retro SNES gamepad, designed in an old school manner would not help you to play a lot of modern games without joysticks and triggers. This was what was discovered last year in NES wireless gamepad, but on the brighter side, unlike last year you don’t have to purchase a set of two gamepads for $60 set price, you could get these retro SNES gamepads for $29.99 apiece with a purchasing limit of 4 gamepads per customer.
The gamepad is a meager modernization of the pastel-colored classic controller with USB-C charging and a wireless connection. But there is this more expensive option that is there in the market- The 8bitdo SF30 / SN30 Pro which comes at $45 apiece. The 8bitdo is a modernized SNES controller with more than enough buttons and joysticks to play any switch game. The controllers also pair with Windows, macOS, and Android, so all in all, it’s a pretty cool controller.
