Asus Collaborates with AMD to launch miniature motherboards.

The fortune magazine’s World’s most admired company, Asus launches a pair of ROG motherboards based on AMD’s X570 chips. In this era of modern electronic gadgets, one can build a personal computer around a small form factor setup without breaking a sweat. It’s astounding as to how motherboards are getting smaller and more powerful. These ROG motherboards allow users to build a high-end desktop with a Ryzen 3000 series beating as its heart.

ROG Strix 570-I is smaller than a micro-ATX motherboard

The ROG Strix 570-I Gaming is a mini-ITX motherboard measuring 6.7×6.7 inches, built to fix within an ultra-compact case. ROG Strix 570-1 comes with premium features like WiFi 6 connectivity, Bluetooth 5 and Supremefx 8-channel audio.

The bigger ROG Crosshair VIII Impact enables a second expansion slot. The bundled expansion card allows two M.2 drives to be connected by the help of a SO-DIMM interface.

The ROG Crosshair VIII Impact features-

  • 2x M.2 sockets.
  • 2x DIMM slots which support up to 64GB of DDR4-4800 RAM.
  • 4x SATA 6Gbps.
  • Socket AM4.
  • 1x PCI express 4.0×16.

“Impact’s unusual mini-DTX form factor is a deliberate choice. Many mini-ITX cases ship with enough space for a dual-slot graphics card, meaning there’s typically unused space below the bottom PCIe slot—space that could be utilized to mount more components or enable additional features. Being marginally taller than mini-ITX allows Impact to exploit this unused space, allowing ROG engineers to squeeze in features while still fitting a large proportion of mini-ITX PC cases,” said ASUS.

Both boards equipped with Infineon TDA1472 powers stages as part of its VRM architecture which promises to help with rapidly changing current demands, maintaining exemplary thermal performance and minimizing switching and conduction losses. Alongside robust heatsinks, these motherboards come equipped with two custom delta superflo fans which are rated to last more than 60,000 hours to cool chipset and VRM area.

These motherboards are quite similar to each other, the ROG crosshair VIII impact should be able to be encased inside some mini-ITX cases but measure the case beforehand to make sure it fits. In brief, either board would “treat users to the full-on ROG experience in small packages” said ASUS. ASUS said that both these motherboards would be released soon, the ROG Strix X570-I Gaming is priced at £289.99 and the ROG Crosshair VIII Impact is priced at £383.99.
